Over-turned

Exhibited at ReadingRoom Gallery, Sunderland, 2022
Over-turned, was a bold re-imagining of ‘Under-side, Under-stood’ at S1 Artspace, Sheffield; which never opened to public eyes because of Covid-19.
"‘Over-turned’ represents an uprooting of Charlottes ground in Sheffield, transporting it to Sunderland. Laying bare aspects of our world we forget to look at, her exhibition is another stage to her continual project; exploring the nuances of public space.
Focusing on the marker post as a medium for sculpture, Charlotte Dawson is preoccupied with the inaccessible language of public infrastructure. Features of the shared domain that reflect how little we know about what's beneath us, the layers and layers of work and re-work."
